The Statue of Liberty crashed on the side of a building, which does not actually occur in the game.

The Statue of Liberty is a famous statue in New York City.

History[]

The statue is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in the middle of New York Harbor. The statue, designed by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and dedicated on October 28, 1886, was a gift to the United States from the people of France.

The statue is of a robed female figure representing Libertas, the Roman goddess of freedom, who bears a torch and a tabula ansata (a tablet evoking the law) upon which is inscribed the date of the American Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776. A broken chain lies at her feet.

The statue is an icon of American freedom and of the United States: a welcoming signal to immigrants arriving from abroad.

Parasite Eve[]

It is seen multiple times in Parasite Eve, such as in the game's intro. It is the first thing a player sees (other than the Squaresoft logo) in the entire Parasite Eve series, where it appears to be crying blood, or perhaps Eve's slime. This foreshadows the theme of the game about humanity being in danger, the imminent sorrow and suffering that is to come as a result of Eve.

Parasite Eve - Aya's Nuke

Aya nukes the giant slime monster.

Aya Brea fights Eve on Liberty Island beside a fallen Statue of Liberty after a giant goo monster knocks it over.

When Daniel Dollis asks Kunihiko Maeda why Eve went to the Statue of Liberty, Maeda replies that it's because of the ocean and what it symbolizes. Maeda calls the sea the mother of all creation.

The 3rd Birthday[]

In The 3rd Birthday, it is seen engulfed by the Babel in December 2012, meaning the statue was restored after the events of Parasite Eve. However, the Babel has apparently destroyed its right arm.

In various artwork for the game, the statue is seen crushed, and it seems to be decapitated. This is never seen in the game so it is unknown if this is what canonically happened during the game.

Since the events of the game technically never happened due to time travel, the statue is fine and well.
